So it's safe to say RIP PS Forums. ?? - 2018 No, more like 2015. It died around the time Jeffrey took over. He didn't have a clue what to do, the mods were either too apathetic or incapable of speaking up against bad practices.
A small group of MVPs attempted to revive the group, working autonomously from SONY, myself included, but they refused to drop the "PSMVP" title and re-brand themselves thus opening up infinitely more avenues for success and exposure, but they wouldn't listen to me. The groups discord stagnated for over a year and ultimately accomplished nothing besides wasting my time.True, but I mean dead as in no one is posting anymore. I wonder what steps will SONY take to revive the forum, when it's really nothing being posted. lol i took a peek at the forums and theres actually some people still defending that place.. going as far as calling the people who speak up against the state of the forums trolls... haha.. to them i say fuck you.. over here of course ...really?

You'll just have to wade through the trolls who are upset about the state of the forums (fair enough) but in reaction to that, just hate on everything and everyone that passes through (not the most mature). A bit of a self-fufilling prophecy if you ask me." community.playstation.com/content/pdc/us/en_US/pdc-communities/playstation-general.topic.html/forums_are_a_ghostt-xsqj.htmli gotta admit that comment is funny.. but.. i think they apoligised for it later but still its been said.. also.. would you look at that.. it just so happens to be a ps mvp support lol..

Angelo, assuming Sony cares. If they do care about the forum, their past decisions have been questionable. I think the MVP program reform was the beginning of the end, but I don't have inside info.
PS4 pushes social media stuff, but I'd say there a good portion of gamers who aren't very active in social media and would prefer a forum type community, even in 2018.
Steam forum is pretty active afaik, but tbh I don't think it's very well built either. It's pretty bare bones. So stuff like signatures and custom stuff is not the key to success. Management probably.

In my honest opinion, them taking over the forum was the beginning of the end. Before them, there was a very large active membership, and after the switch to jive, the activeness dropped. I assume that it may have picked back up just a little bit when they decided to switch back to lithium, but then each major decision that they pushed out seemed to cut the membership piece by piece.
I don't exactly remember what the head admin said about adding like 500 - 1,000 MVP members were, but it really didn't make any sense. We should probably invite SweetPoison here. She remembers everything. If I'm right, I believe he said something about that reason being about promoting some SONY stuff, advertising, and getting our opinions about things for them, the game developers, and other crap.

I'd leak everything if I still had access to the board.
