A lot of people prefer subbed anime or dubbed. I wonder why that is, given they don't understand Japanese (because if they do, it's a no brainer).
Is it because it (the dub) doesn't sound as natural as it should?
If I watch stuff dubbed in my first language, I will cringe if the choice of words is off. So is the hatred behind dubs that it sounds off? Or is it something else like the voices don't match the characters?
