[...]SOCOM 2 on PS2 using the X-Link servers to play online[...]. How well does that work for you SOCOM guys? At first (a few years ago) it was terrible, hard to get setup and running, plus really laggy and a lot of disconnects. Then they did an update to the X Links servers that makes it much better, the initial setup takes about 15 minutes (making a x links account and such), once that's done its pretty much the same as playing online before Sony cut off the game servers. When I get online during the weekday there's usually 30-50 people in the SOCOM 2 online "arena", with 2-4 different games available for me to join. Weekends get busier with close to 100 people online on Friday and Saturday nights. The numbers have been growing at a decent rate since the update (I've only been back a month), and we even started up the old TRS Friday night community game. So yeah, it's pretty kickass being able to play SOCOM online again

maddenking1980 Are you interested in Ghost Recon Wildlands at all? I know it's not super similar to SOCOM, but it does share some traits. And they revealed the game will have PvP after launch.

Never really got into the Ghost Recon games... other than a few game of BF1 on Christmas Day, I haven't touched my PS4 in months. I even let the kids take the PS4 to their bedroom because it was never getting used by me.

Cheaper games, no monthly fee for playing online. Emulate older games. The list goes on. I highly recommend it.

Sounds good, wish I could say the same about MAG..... I still think there's some hope for MAG. I know there are people trying to figure out a way to get the shut down PS3 games back online. It might take a few years but it's bound to happen sometime. We just got lucky that SOCOM 2 and CA had LAN gameplay,

I highly recommend it.We have 2 gaming PCs, an old one running a GTX 560ti (I bought for $150 used a few years back) and a new one I got the "kids" for Christmas. It came with a i5 and GTX 1050ti for $599, it was a Micro Center prebuilt, on sale.

And considering it is a dead game, it would very difficult to obtain at least 64 people, let alone 256.
